Distinguished guests of MUNCCC 2018,

This is the Secretary-General of Model United Nations Climate Change Conference. I’d like to begin by stating what an honor it is to be welcoming you to MUNCCC 2018, and what a privilege it is to be working to bring you a quality experience for another year.

 

Last year, some great discussion was done, and I feel that all of us came out of the conferences knowing a bit more about climate change. However, many things have changed since then. With U.S. President Donald Trump announcing the United States’ withdrawal from the Paris Agreement of 2015, discussions on climate change and solutions to current climate problems must be as active as ever. MUNCCC has worked hard to provide the environment for such debates to happen, and for another year welcomes all participants to a conference of professional quality.

 

I’m sure motivations for participating will be different for everyone. You might join because you wanted to try Model United Nations for the first time, and you just didn’t know where to look. You might join for the opportunity to meet many new people and make long lasting friends. You might even join for the prospect of discussing relevant issues affecting our world today, as I have many years ago. Whatever it is you’re looking for, I promise you’ll find it right here.
